#7: Being courages once again and enriching the inbox

Hi friend,

This summer period marks a milestone in my life. I tend to be scared of most things I set out to do. The people closest to me knows this very well, as I tend to overanalyse and paint a picture of failure. Yet, this summer I felt very little fear. And I was reminded about my own strength and perseverance. I began to not just romanticise 'good old days when I actually did the things that scared me' to actually just doing them. I haven't felt so much as 'me', in a long time. And me is the simple equation of: be scared, and still do it. I have challenged myself physically, I have ventured out on missions I did not prepare for yet went for it and I have once again heard my own voice filled with hope.

And well, in many ways this micro newsletter is also a part of this journey, as I want to express myself and allow myself to share my widely - my perspectives and ideas I stumble upon. It feels fantastic to reintroduce parts of myself to myself again. So, as this newsletter symbolises 'strength' to me, I thought it would be timely to share 3 newsletters that have stuck with:

What: Nesta is the UK innovation foundation with a great abundance of insights on social innovation, change management, education and policy influence. Every single newsletter is a source of new insights, angles and fresh perspectives. I absolutely crave Nesta's updates. Have a look at their whole website, subscribe, and welcome to the Nesta world!

Why it matters for me: Nesta belongs to my top 5 admired organisation to lead transformative changes in our society. I have learned so much about education policy, mapping, brave thinking and how it looks being at the forefront - not just as a follower.

What: Bioneers is my to-go-platform for anything related to nature and social change. Aside from subscribing to the newsletter make sure to dig into the video-speeches, read the articles and indulge in how the world ought to look like. A courages space that connects all the dots for me and how I wish the world to evolve.

Why it matters for me: I discovered biomimicry about a year ago. And nothing is the same any more. I ask myself contiously: how would nature solve this? Bioneers is a space to virtually meet established scientist and young people who see the monumental potential in asking nature for advice. Their weekly newsletter is my all-time favorite, and literally gives me a smile and sense of love every time.

What: The Ethics Centre are one of the organisers of the Festival of Dangerous Ideas (that I have recommended earlier in 3E). The Centre holds the talent to package life-depending questions into a modern and funky looking package - which of course makes it more accessible for a wider audience. I recently discovered their newsletter, and am so far very intrigued about the seminars and ideas they unfold in my inbox.

Why it matters for me: Ethics is a subject that I initially associated as a dusty book. But by actively placing it in my own decision-processes and navigation through life, I find it as a valuable tool. The Ethics Centre is for me a way to indulge in ethics through a very contemporary lens. A way I believe is the way forward to bring ethics to the mainstream.

 Love,
 Nathalie
